It's blasketball time or whatever1!

Just a quick prognostication before the Raptors/Celtics tipoff: the Raptors will win.

Prognostication wrong! But really, this was a mess of a game, with both teams committing a surfeit of turnovers and the Celtics hacking mercilessly, plus the Raptors shooting like 33% from the field. I got the sense it was very much the early season version of both clubs.

The Celtics really don't look that great. They have so little depth. It's easy to imagine Garnett getting drawn into foul trouble often, or the opposition running wild when one or more of the big three are resting, against the mediocre remainder of the team. Though the big three were each occasionally brilliant in this game, including obviously Allen's game winner, this one was lost by the Raptors, who just looked sloppy and incoherent. I'm convinced the Celtics won't break 50 wins this year.

i watched this game only in the 4th quarter and overtime, but i thought garnett looked pretty fierce. there's a lot of room for each of the big 3 to have very bad individual nights and have the other 2 guys cover. they could be a team that loses a lot of games in the first half of the season and finishes 25-10, or something.
